摘要:Abstract: Hypolimnetic water in stratified lakes and reservoirs may become depleted of oxygen, with negative consequences for water quality. In this presentation, I briefly review approaches that replenish oxygen, including a unified suite of process models that predict performance based on the applied air or oxygen flow rate and configuration of the diffuser. I discuss the potential for these systems to meet sediment oxygen demand and to suppress the release of anoxic species from the sediments, including iron, manganese and phosphorus. The process models are being coupled with hydrodynamic and water-quality models to enable effective design and operation, and economic optimization.
